RULES D.T.C. (version 7.0 of April 4, 2022)

1-Definitions

For Coastal Towers we mean those buildings with a more or less accentuated vertical development, with a polygonal or circular plan isolated or inserted, even in series, in a more complex organism, with defensive functions or sighting or signaling built in municipalities bathed by the sea or from a lake and however not far more than 5 km from the coast.

A port is a natural or artificial structure located on the sea coast or on the shore of a lake or a watercourse, designed to allow the landing and mooring of boats, boats and ships, and their protection from adverse conditions of the waters. It also has the function of allowing and facilitating the loading and unloading of goods and the embarkation and disembarkation of people.

There are no time or historical constraints.

2- Activations

The activation operations of the towers must be carried out in the vicinity of the building and in any case within 800 meters from the external perimeter of the building.
For ports, entry is often forbidden for security reasons, so operations can also be conducted from the outside and at a distance of no more than 1,000 meters.
Any exceptions to these distances can be requested by email to the Award Manager with the appropriate reasons. (awardmanager@calabriadxteam.it)
Any fixed stations must produce appropriate documentation to demonstrate compliance with the planned distance.

Each reference activation operation will be considered valid if at least 100 QSOs have been made at the first activation.

For QRP activations (max 5 watts) 20 QSOs are required even if they are reactivations.

All bands assigned to the Amateur Radio Service in Italy are valid. All modes of issue are valid.

Activations simultaneously with activations of castles, islands, lighthouses, lakes, etc. are also valid, provided that the reference of the Coastal Ports and Towers Award is also mentioned during activation.

For the activation of a reference already activated, the quorum is reduced to 50 QSOs.

The activities must be completed within a maximum time of 30 days from the first QSO. Other activities will not be validated to the same activator until the previous one is completed, unless it is proven inability to complete the activation (to be communicated to the IK7XNF Manager at the email awardmanager@calabriadxteam.it)

In case of non-validation due to violation of the regulation, the activator will be automatically suspended from activations for a further 30 days. Violation of the suspension results in automatic disqualification.

A maximum of two (not simultaneous) activations per day with the same name are allowed upon notice to the Award Manager. The callsign used must follow the official rules.

Portable stations in the same call area will postpone / P to the callsign. Ex: IK8YFU / P.

Each activation must have a duration of not less than 100 minutes, from the first QSO to the last QSO logged and regardless of whether they are new activations or reactivations.

In the case of activations involving more than one operator, with a Section or Club call, the reference will be credited to the name of the section or club. Operators can have the reference credited as Hunter simply by entering their call to LOG.

Example: IQ8QX activates DTC-RC001 with operators IK8YFU, IU8GUK, IZ8PPJ.

If IK8YFU wants to be accredited as Hunter, the reference will have to enter their call to LOG and the same for IU8GUK and IZ8PPJ.

In the activators ranking only IQ8QX, will be credited as activator of DTC-RC001. Hunter IK8YFU, IU8GUK and IZ8PPJ will be credited as Hunter.

3- Documentation

For accreditation, the activator must, on the upload page
Upload the LOG in ADIF format
Upload 1 Photograph that proves the presence of the activators at the reference

By uploading the LOG the activator accepts that it will be published on the official Award website as indicated in the Upload form.
The list of references is published on the Reference List and is constantly updated.

Requests for the inclusion of new references must be made online in the appropriate form on the Report new reference page.

The list, as well as the abbreviations, forms, logo and graphic design of the diploma are the property of the Calabria dx Team Association and cannot be reproduced without the authorization of Calabria dx Team.

The new references assigned are available exclusively to those who have requested their inclusion for a period of 30 days (defined as the protection period) counted from the day following the date of authorization for the census, after which they can be activated by anyone.

Offenders will be sanctioned within the terms set out in Art. 5 of the Regulations and the activities carried out in violation will be considered invalid for both the activator and the hunters. QSL confirmation cards are not required for the rankings, the electronic cross-check identifies the presence of the QSO in the activator’s log.
